Jammu, Dec 16 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday said that the pace of development in Jammu and Kashmir had been affected by the back-to-back imposition of the Model Code of Conduct and elections earlier this year.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Samba, as per news gathering agency KINS, Omar highlighted the challenges the administration faced in executing projects due to these political constraints.
“Development did suffer a bit due to the back-to-back elections and the Code of Conduct. These factors delayed several initiatives and halted work at various stages,” Omar said. “However, we are committed to filling these gaps in the next three months and will work tirelessly to catch up on the delayed projects.”
The Chief Minister assured the public that his government would expedite the execution of various developmental works that had been affected, with a focus on ensuring timely and effective implementation.
In addition to his remarks on governance, Omar Abdullah paid heartfelt tributes to the legendary Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, who passed away recently. He praised Hussain’s immense contribution to the world of Indian classical music, noting his role in bringing the art form to global prominence. “Zakir Hussain’s legacy in the world of music is unparalleled. He will always be remembered for his mastery of the Tabla and his dedication to Indian classical music,” Omar said (KINS)
