On Aga Rahullah remark: Farooq Abdullah says J&K Govt can’t fight with Centre
KINS Desk
Srinagar, January 9 (KINS): National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Thursday stressed the importance of cooperation between the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir government, saying both have to work together instead of engaging in conflicts.
Responding to recent remarks by NC MP Aga Rahullah, who alleged that Omar Abdullah was perceived as a “Centre’s man,” Farooq Abdullah dismissed the claim. “Let him say what he thinks. But Omar Abdullah is the people’s Chief Minister. He is not working on anyone’s directives. Do you want that we should fight with the Centre,” he told reporters according to news agency KINS.
The NC chief highlighted the necessity of maintaining a working relationship with the Centre for the region’s progress. “We don’t want confrontation with the Centre. If we start fighting, how can we resolve people’s issues? We are not with the BJP, but we have to work with the Centre government for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. If we start fighting with Centre then how can we build up schools and hospitals,” he asked.
Farooq Abdullah also addressed the controversy surrounding a BSF Commandant accused in a paper scam, who reportedly sought to join the National Conference. “I was not aware that he is accused in some case. He can’t join NC until he gets a clean chit,” he clarified. (KINS)
