Army launches search operation after suspicious movement near LoC in Akhnoor

Jammu, Jan 11 (KINS): The Army launched a search operation in the Akhnoor sector on Saturday following a tip-off about suspicious activity near the Line of Control (LoC), according to security officials.
Villagers reported observing the movement of individuals, suspected to be militants, in the Jogiwan area during the early hours. They immediately alerted the nearest Army camp about the sighting.
In response, Army personnel quickly cordoned off the village and surrounding forested areas, initiating an extensive search. However, as of the latest reports, no trace of the suspected individuals has been found. The search and cordon operation are still ongoing.
This comes months after a successful operation in the same region, where three heavily armed militants, affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), were killed during a two-day operation in late October 2024.(KINS)
