Z-Morh Tunnel Inauguration: LG Manoj Sinha praises PM Modi’s efforts for J&K’s growth ‘People are no longer talking about terrorism but tourism’

KINS DESK
Srinagar, Jan 13 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke at the inauguration of the Z-Morh Tunnel in Sonamarg, emphasizing the significant progress in the region under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“I pay tribute to the seven innocent people who lost their lives in a terrorist attack here. Their sacrifice will always be remembered. Today, Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing remarkable growth, and the credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Sinha said, as per news agency KINS.
He highlighted how the focus in the region has shifted from violence to development. “People are no longer talking about terrorism but about tourism. This is a major achievement for Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Sinha called the Z-Morh Tunnel a “game-changer” for Sonamarg, especially for its potential to boost winter tourism. “This tunnel will make Sonamarg accessible all year round. I believe the day is not far when Ladakh will also have all-weather connectivity, bringing even more growth to the region,” he said.
The LG also highlighted the government’s focus on infrastructure projects. “Many road projects have been completed, and they are providing excellent connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.
Sharing impressive figures, Sinha noted that tourism in Jammu and Kashmir has reached new heights. “In 2024, 2.35 crore tourists visited Jammu and Kashmir. This shows the region’s transformation and the confidence people now have in visiting this beautiful land,” he stated.
He concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the region’s citizens. “The Prime Minister has promised a better life for every person in Jammu and Kashmir. We are seeing that promise come true today,” Sinha said.(KINS)
