Christian community celebrate 100 years of Saint Joseph Church in Baramulla

Srinagar, March 19 (KINS): The Christian community in Kashmir celebrated the centenary of Saint Joseph Church in Baramulla, marking 100 years since its establishment.
Head of the Catholic Church in Jammu and Kashmir, Vishab, said the church has played a significant role in promoting peace and communal harmony in the region.
“We are now celebrating its centenary. Christians have always prayed for peace and communal harmony in Kashmir,” he said, stating that the church remains open to people of all faiths.
The church’s senior priest, Father Bushap Priyaya, who has served in Baramulla for over four decades, expressed gratitude to the local community for their continuous support.
“We also thank Baramulla for supporting us over the years. A lot of people joined us today in celebrations,” he said.
The centenary celebrations witnessed participation from members of the Christian community and people from various backgrounds, highlighting the spirit of unity and inclusivity. Among those who joined the celebrations including
