Two drug peddlers arrested in Sopore, contraband seized
Sopore, April 09 (KINS): Continuing its crackdown against the drug menace, Sopore Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party from Police Post Warpora, led by In-Charge PP Warpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and SHO PS Sopore, apprehended one individual during naka checking at Main Chowk Warpora. The accused has been identified as Irfan Ahmad, son of Ghulam Hassan Malik, a resident of Bilal Abad, Warpora Sopore. During the search, 160 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from his possession. A case under FIR No. 51/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway.
In a related development, during the investigation of FIR No. 44/2025 under the NDPS Act at Police Station Sopore, another suspect’s name surfaced. Following this, a team from Police Post Fruit Mandi, led by the In-Charge, obtained a search warrant from the competent court and searched the residence of Firdous Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Sultan Dar, a resident of Reban. During the search, 374 grams of charas-like substance were recovered. The accused has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
