Srinagar, Oct 25 (KINS): In a major success against absconding offenders, Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested five long-time absconders from Kulgam and Sopore.
In Kulgam, police arrested one absconder, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Mahu, son of Sannahullah Mahu, resident of Mander Bagh, Srinagar. He was wanted in FIR No. 89/2006 U/S 279, 304-A RPC of Police Station Qazigund, registered on April 26, 2006. The accused had been evading arrest for several years.
In Sopore, police apprehended four absconders, including three wanted in a heinous crime case pending since 2014. A special team from Police Station Panzalla arrested Mohammad Sadiq Khan (son of Mohammad Yousuf Khan), Ajaz Ahmad Shah, and Mohsin Ali Shah (both sons of Mohammad Mozim Shah), all residents of Paranpilan, Uri. They were wanted in FIR No. 10/2014 U/S 363, 376, 109 RPC of Police Station Panzalla and had been on the run for 11 years.
In another operation, Police Post Warpora Sopore arrested Shahzad Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Ramzan Lone, resident of Bunkoot Bandipora, wanted in FIR No. 241/2019 U/S 366, 376D, 344, 109 RPC of Police Station Sopore. He had been evading arrest since 2019.
After completing legal formalities, all arrested absconders are being produced before the competent courts in Baramulla and Sopore.
The J&K Police reiterated their commitment to bringing absconders and offenders to justice and upholding the rule of law in the Union Territory.(KINS)
