BJP MLAs disrupt Assembly over relief for flood victims

KINS Correspondent

Srinagar, Oct 28 (KINS): BJP MLAs on Tuesday created disruption in the House after the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly disallowed discussion on relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.

As soon as the Assembly began, BJP MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta said he had moved an adjournment motion seeking discussion on the issue of relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.

The Speaker said that the discussion would be allowed on Wednesday.

However, other BJP MLAs according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) also stood up from their seats and raised slogans, shouting, “Jammu ke saath insaaf karo” (Do justice with Jammu).

Amid the uproar, NC legislators urged them to return to their seats and maintain order. After assurances of Speaker that discussion will be held tomorrow, the BJP members allowed the House to proceed. (KINS)
