LG Sinha, Omar hail team on Women’s World Cup win

Srinagar, Nov 03 (KINS): A day after India scripted history by clinching the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, defeating South Africa in final, congratulatory messages poured in from across the country, with leaders from Jammu and Kashmir also hailing the team’s remarkable achievement.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha took to X to applaud the champions, posting:“World Champion Team India! Congratulations to the Indian Women’s Cricket Team on lifting the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. This glorious victory is a moment of immense pride for the entire nation.”

He added that the team’s determination, skill, and fighting spirit have inspired millions across the country.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) speaking to reporters, also expressed his admiration for the team’s performance. “Congratulations to them. It is a moment of pride for the entire country,” he said.

Omar Abdullah noted that India’s journey through the tournament was nothing short of extraordinary. “When the tournament started, no one expected that we would win. But they played with a lot of courage and won some very difficult matches, especially the semi-final against Australia by chasing such a big target, which was not an ordinary thing,” he remarked.

India’s victory marks a historic milestone in women’s cricket, with the team showcasing exceptional composure and teamwork to secure the coveted title and make the nation proud.(KINS)
