DGP visits Kupwara, consoles family of inspector killed in Nowgam Police Station blast

Srinagar, Nov 16 (KINS): Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, on Sunday visited Muqam-e-Shahwali in Drugmulla, Kupwara, to console the family of Inspector Shah Asrar-ul-Haq, who lost his life in the accidental blast at Nowgam Police Station on Friday night.

Inspector Asrar was among the nine persons who died in the explosion, which occurred while explosive material recovered during an investigation was being handled. Several other personnel were injured in the incident.

According to news agency KINS, the DGP Nalin Prabhat was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V. K. Birdhi, Special DG Coordination PHQ SJM Geelani, and Additional SP Kupwara Fayaz Geelani.

Senior officers from the civil administration, police and security forces were also part of the delegation that visited the bereaved family, expressed solidarity with them and assured all possible support from the administration. (KINS)
