Ladakh LG Kavinder Gupta meets PM Modi

Srinagar, Jan 05 (KINS):  The Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, on Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and held an extensive review of the region’s development agenda and welfare measures.

During the meeting, the Lt Governor updated the Prime Minister on the progress of key developmental programmes, ongoing welfare schemes and major infrastructure projects across Ladakh. He underlined the government’s focus on enhancing road and air connectivity, strengthening public infrastructure and ensuring efficient delivery of essential services in the region’s difficult terrain and strategic locations.

Kavinder Gupta also discussed initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable tourism while safeguarding Ladakh’s rich cultural and ecological heritage, alongside efforts to generate employment and livelihood opportunities for local youth. The meeting further covered issues related to education, healthcare facilities in remote and border areas, and the effective implementation of various Central Government schemes in the Union Territory.(KINS)
