Tight security across Kashmir for peaceful Republic Day Celebrations: IGP Kmr

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KINS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, said that strong security arrangements have been put in place across the Kashmir Valley to ensure peaceful Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
After paying tribute to martyrs at the Balidan Stambh, the IGP told reporters that Republic Day functions will be organized in all districts of Kashmir. He said the main celebration in Srinagar will be held at Bakshi Stadium, where police personnel, schoolchildren, and members of the public will take part.
He added that security has been further tightened, especially in Srinagar, with Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces working together to maintain law and order. IGP Birdi said he is confident that the arrangements will ensure smooth and trouble-free celebrations across the Valley.(KINS)
