Police arrests 02 gamblers in Ganderbal, stake money seized

Srinagar February 08 (KINS): In a continued drive against social evils and illegal activities, police in Ganderbal arrested two gamblers involved in gambling at Narayan-Bagh in the jurisdiction of PP Shadipora.

A police statement says that the arrested gamblers have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Malik son of Mohd Ismail Malik resident of Gamwara, Wakura and Manzoor Ahmad Khan son of Jalal-u-din Khan resident of Narayan-Bagh. During the operation, stake money amounting to Rs.3,370/- along with a deck of playing cards was recovered from the spot.

Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 19/2026, under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway.

Police reiterates its commitment to maintaining public order and urges citizens to cooperate with the police by reporting any illegal activities in their surroundings, the statement added. (KINS)
