DM Ramban Implements Stricter Measures for Fair Election Campaigning

Srinagar, Apr 17: In a bid to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure fair and peaceful elections, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary IAS, the District Magistrate of Ramban, has issued a set of directives aimed at regulating election campaigning activities.
Effective from 17th April, 5 PM, campaigning via electronic media has been prohibited, with Chaudhary emphasizing the need to curb the influence of digital platforms on voter sentiments. Additionally, the entry of outsider political functionaries has been restricted, a move intended to prevent undue interference from external parties.
Furthermore, in a bid to maintain tranquility in the electoral atmosphere, the use of loudspeakers has been banned within the district. These measures come as part of a concerted effort to create a level playing field for all candidates and ensure that campaigning is conducted with respect and dignity.
Chaudhary urged all political parties and candidates to adhere strictly to these directives, emphasizing the importance of respecting the electoral process and fostering an environment conducive to healthy democratic practices.
With these measures in place, the district administration of Ramban aims to uphold the principles of fairness and transparency in the upcoming elections, setting a precedent for responsible and respectful campaigning across the region.
