Lt Governor Reviews Functioning of Hospitality & Protocol Department

Srinagar, May 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a review meeting of the Hospitality and Protocol Department today.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo; Chairman of J&K Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JKRERA) Satish Chandra; Principal Secretary of Finance Department Santosh D Vaidya; Commissioner Secretary of Hospitality & Protocol and Principal Resident Commissioner Dr. Rashmi Singh; Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari; Secretary of Public Works (R&B) Bhupinder Kumar; Secretary of Law Achal Sethi, and other senior officers.
The Lt Governor emphasized measures to streamline department operations and set quantifiable goals to increase revenue. He reviewed the assets and ongoing tourism and guest house construction projects, stressing the need for maximum utilization of guest houses, convention centers, and conference facilities to provide comprehensive solutions for tourism and hospitality needs.
He also advocated for promoting Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives to enhance efficiency and generate additional revenue. The meeting discussed the rental structure of government-run guest houses and the renovation of infrastructure.
