Srinagar, Aug 27 (KINS): In a notable political shift within the Dooru Assembly Segment of Anantnag District, Former Congress Leader and DDC Member Peer Shahbaz has rejoined the Congress Party, reaffirming his trust in the party’s pro-people policies and programs. Alongside him, Former Secretary of the J&K Legislative Assembly Mohd Maqbool Bhat has also made a return to Congress.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, welcomed both Shahbaz and Bhat into the party, calling their rejoining a positive development.
Mir praised Shahbaz and Bhat as influential figures in Dooru, expressing confidence that they would leverage the Congress platform to effectively serve the people of the region. “Their rejoining is a significant boost for our party, and we hope it encourages more like-minded individuals to support our fight against the erosion of democratic institutions and public rights,” Mir said.
Both Peer Shahbaz and Mohd Maqbool Bhat have pledged to strengthen the Congress Party and commit themselves to dedicated service for the people of Dooru. Their return is seen as a strategic move to reinforce the party’s presence and enhance its outreach in the district.(KINS)
