Police conduct raids in Srinagar’s Batamaloo & HMT areas, seize incriminating material

Srinagar, Nov 30 (KINS): Srinagar Police conducted searches in Batamaloo and HMT areas as part of an ongoing investigation into a case filed under FIR No. 65/2024, involving violations of Section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Police in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that the investigation centers around individuals allegedly working at the behest of adversaries and conspiring to create false narratives aimed at inciting unlawful and violent activities.
“Search warrants issued by the NIA Court enabled police to raid the homes of Obais Riyaz Dar, a resident of Bonpora Batamaloo, and Sahil Ahmad Bhat, a resident of HMT Zainakot. During the raids, police seized incriminating materials and electronic devices”.
Authorities have warned that further searches will be conducted in the homes of other identified suspects linked to the dissemination of malicious and seditious propaganda.
Police also urged citizens to act responsibly on social media, refraining from sharing or uploading content that spreads false narratives or incites violence, particularly among youth.(KINS)
