HM Amit Shah chairs high-level J&K security review; LG Manoj Sinha, DGP & CS present

KINS DESK

Srinagar, Dec 19 (KINS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a crucial high-level meeting in New Delhi to assess the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting saw participation of J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, the Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat and senior officials from the Army, paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Sources told news gathering agency KINS that the meeting focused on crafting a comprehensive security roadmap for the region through 2025.
“Discussions were centered on addressing recent terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir,” sources said.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to combating terrorism, Amit Shah emphasized the importance of proactive intelligence and coordination among security forces.
“We cannot let the sacrifices of our security personnel go in vain. Every life lost to terrorism is a tragedy that must spur us to act with greater resolve,” Home Minister said, according to sources.
Since the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganization of J&K in 2019, security in the Union Territory has remained under the central government’s jurisdiction.
“Jammu and Kashmir has seen an undeniable improvement in security, but we must not be complacent,” Shah reportedly told officials.
The meeting concluded with directives for intelligence-sharing, capacity-building among local police forces, and a renewed focus on engaging youth in positive activities to counter radicalization.(KINS)
