NIA Team Dispatched to Pahalgam to Assist Probe into Deadly Terror Attack That Claimed 26 Lives
New Delhi, April 23 — The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has dispatched a high-level team led by an Inspector General to Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, following Tuesday’s horrific terrorist attack that left 26 people dead, most of them tourists from various parts of the country, official sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The team is en route to the terror-struck Baisaran area of Pahalgam, where it will coordinate with local police and provide technical and investigative support in the ongoing probe.
According to officials, heavily armed terrorists opened fire indiscriminately at unsuspecting tourists who were enjoying the scenic meadows—popularly known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ for their alpine beauty—engaged in pony rides, relaxing near eateries, or simply soaking in the landscape.
