‘Kashmir is safe, waiting to welcome tourists’: Apni Party Holds Shikara Rally at Dal Lake

Srinagar, June 18 (KINS): In a bid to restore confidence among tourists and promote Kashmir as a safe destination, the Apni Party on Wednesday organised a Shikara rally at the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar.

Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari flagged off the rally, saying it was aimed at sending a strong message to people across the country that Kashmir is safe and eagerly waiting to welcome visitors.

“This rally is to assure everyone that Kashmir is as safe as any other part of the country. Your safety is guaranteed. Come and experience the beauty and warmth of Kashmir,” Bukhari told reporters as per KINS.

He expressed concern over the challenges faced by tourism stakeholders, including houseboat owners, Shikara operators, hoteliers, and transporters, who have been hit hard after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that left 26 people dead, including 25 tourists.

“These people are under pressure. We are here to show solidarity with them. The government must step in and provide necessary support to help them recover,” Bukhari said, urging for urgent measures to support the revival of the tourism industry in the Valley.(KINS)
