Mendhar, Aug 28 (KINS): The death anniversary (Barsii) of late Babu Ram, a Jammu and Kashmir Police officer, was observed today at his residence in Mendhar with deep respect and honour.
On this occasion, SDM Mendhar, SDPO Mendhar, Tehsildar Mendhar, SHO Mendhar, along with members of the civil society, visited his home and paid heartfelt tributes.
Babu Ram sacrificed his life in 2020 during a gunfight at Panthachowk, Srinagar, when he came under heavy fire while fighting terrorists.
His courage and devotion continue to inspire both the police force and the local community.
Speaking at the ceremony, SDPO Mendhar as per news agency KINS said, “In 2020 at Panthachowk, Shaheed Babu Ram gave his life while bravely fighting the enemy. The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the people of this area are proud of him. Today, the police, administration, and public came together to remember and salute his supreme sacrifice.”
SDM Mendhar also paid homage, saying, “This day was observed with full respect by the people, police, and administration. We offered ‘shradhanjali’ to the martyr. The message is clear – those who fight for the nation never die, they become immortal. The youth should learn from such heroes. Proper arrangements were made for this occasion.”
A large number of people who attended the event also said that the sacrifice of Shaheed Babu Ram will forever remain alive in their hearts and will continue to motivate generations to serve the nation with dedication. (KINS)
