All Schools to remain closed today in Kashmir Division amid heavy rainfall alert: Director Education KINS Desk Srinagar, Sept 03 (KINS):

Srinagar, Sep 03 (KINS): Schools across the Kashmir division will remain closed today as a precautionary measure following continuous heavy rainfall overnight and forecasts of more intense showers in the coming hours, Director School Education Kashmir, G N Itoo confirmed the decision while speaking to news agency KINS over phone.
“The administration decided early this morning that, keeping in view the safety of students and the prevailing weather conditions, all schools shall remain closed for the day,” he said.
Schools in the Jammu region are already closed due to incessant rainfall, which has disrupted normal life across several districts.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) Srinagar has issued a advisory predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over Jammu, Kathua, Reasi, Doda, Udhampur, Rajouri, and Ramban during the next 14–16 hours.
The advisory also warned of moderate to heavy rain with brief intense showers over parts of the Pir Panjal range and South Kashmir, including Kishtwar, Poonch, Anantnag, Shopian, and Kulgam. There is a high risk of cloudbursts, flash floods, landslides, and waterlogging in vulnerable areas.
Officials said all departments have been placed on high alert, with residents in hilly and flood-prone areas advised to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.(KINS)
