J&K Geology & Mining Department suspends employee over “misuse of Social Media”

Srinagar, Oct 09 (KINS): The Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Directorate of Geology & Mining, has suspended, MTS (Chowkidar), currently deployed at the office of the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Rajouri, for allegedly misusing social media platforms to post content against the government.

The suspension, issued under Order No. 02-JK (DGM) of 2025, as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) was taken in accordance with Rule 18 of the J&K Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971, which prohibits government employees from engaging in activities that bring disrepute to the government.

In addition, Dr. Raj Kumar, Deputy Director (M&GW), has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer under sub-rule (4) of Rule 33 of the J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956. The officer will conduct a detailed inquiry into the conduct of said official and submit a report with findings and recommendations to the Directorate within a week. (KINS)
