Karra tours Central Shalteng, visits Imambara Khushipora and other areas Takes stock of public issues and developmental requirements

Srinagar, Oct 26 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and MLA Central Shalteng, Tariq Hameed Karra, on Sunday conducted an extensive tour of his constituency to review ongoing developmental works and assess public concerns.

During the visit, Karra interacted with residents across several areas, including Imambara Khushipora, where locals apprised him of various civic and developmental issues. The people expressed appreciation for Karra’s consistent efforts in addressing their grievances and ensuring grassroots-level engagement.

Speaking on the occasion, Tariq Hameed Karra said that it has always been his priority to remain accessible to the public and work towards resolving their socio-political and developmental challenges. “It is my firm commitment to represent people’s genuine needs and ensure their timely redressal,” he stated.

Expressing concern over the rising unemployment and inflation, Karra said these issues have deeply impacted society, pushing many families into financial distress. He particularly highlighted the growing public resentment against the installation of smart electricity meters, saying that the additional financial burden has made it difficult for poor and middle-class families to pay their electricity bills.

“The government must take immediate measures to review and address the smart meter issue to provide relief to the common people,” Karra urged.

He also inspected several developmental projects that had remained stalled for nearly a decade, noting that work on many of these initiatives has now resumed.(KINS)
