ANTF Jammu recovers 500 grams of high-grade heroin;interstate drug smuggler nabbed

Jammu, Nov 11 (KINS): In a major strike against interstate narcotics smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu achieved a significant success by recovering approximately 500 grams of high-grade heroin and arresting a key interstate drug smuggler involved in the illicit trade.

Acting on a specific and credible input, an ANTF Jammu team conducted a swift and well-coordinated operation, during which the suspect was intercepted after sustained surveillance. The accused has been identified as Mohd. Parvez, son of Mohd. Shaheed, resident of Jaffarabad, North-East Delhi. On searching him, the team recovered around 500 grams of heroin from his possession.

In this regard, FIR No. 03/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu, and further investigation has been launched to expose the backward and forward linkages of the drug trafficking network.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused was part of a larger interstate syndicate engaged in supplying narcotics from outside the Union Territory to local peddlers within Jammu & Kashmir. The ANTF is working on identifying other associates of the network and tracing the source and destination of the seized contraband.

Reaffirming its commitment to a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force continues its relentless campaign against drug trafficking and the dismantling of organized narcotic supply chains. The public has been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing any credible information related to drug smuggling, and to contribute towards the mission of eradicating the drug menace from the society.(KINS)
