Youth must step up against organisations and individuals involved in Radicalisation in the valley: LG Sinha

JAMMU, November 25: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday urged the youth of Jammu & Kashmir to take a firm stand against organisations and individuals involved in radicalisation in the Valley. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 69th National School Games-2025, organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), in Jammu.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor encouraged young people to uphold the spirit of unity and contribute to building a world free from discrimination.
“Young athletes are the architects of the nation’s destiny. They play a vital role in promoting national unity and shaping a golden future for the country. When youthful energy aligns with national goals, it infuses dynamism into society,” he said.

LG Sinha congratulated all participating athletes and winners, and appreciated the effort of team officials, coaches, and organisers for the successful conduct of the games.

He urged the youth to “dream big” and pursue their aspirations with courage, reminding them of their responsibility as role models who inspire future generations. “From the sports field to the grassroots, you must strive for progressive policies and support social transformation through sports,” he added.

During the ceremony, the Lieutenant Governor presented trophies to winning teams and outstanding players. He also released a compendium prepared by the Department of Youth Services and Sports.

The 69th National School Games featured competitions in four disciplines—Football, Wushu, Taekwondo and Table Tennis—attracting participation from athletes representing 34 states and Union territories.
