Bukhari calls for dialogue, persuasion to restore J&K Statehood
Srinagar, Sept 16 (KINS): Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood should be pursued through dialogue and persuasion with the Centre rather than confrontation.
Bukhari said sustained political engagement was needed to convince the Centre on the issue. He also criticised the proposed all-party meeting ahead of the Assembly session, questioning its focus while NHM employees and medical interns continue to raise their demands.
He said his opposition to the government would continue through democratic means but stressed that an elected government should not be removed through undemocratic methods.
Altaf Bukhari also called for a wider debate on caste-based legislation and reservation policies, including how reservation benefits are distributed.(KINS)
