Bandipora, Nov 01 (KINS): Bandipora Police, Army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 45 Battalion CRPF, along with other agencies, conducted a joint mock drill at PM High School, Gundgahagir, Hajin, on Sunday to check their preparedness and coordination during emergency situations.
The exercise was based on a simulated situation in which two civilians were held hostage by terrorists inside the school building.
After receiving information at around 11 AM, the participating teams reached the location within 15 minutes and immediately cordoned off the area. Students and other civilians were evacuated to ensure their safety.
The teams then carried out a coordinated operation inside the building. During the simulated exercise, both terrorists were neutralised and the hostages were rescued. One hostage was rescued safely, while another, shown as injured during the drill, was given first aid, including CPR, before being shifted to the nearest hospital.
The teams also searched the school building and nearby areas to ensure that the premises were safe.
The mock drill was conducted to assess response time, operational readiness and coordination among the security agencies while dealing with emergency situations.(KINS)
