Three gamblers arrested in Lalchowk Srinagar

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday said that it arrested three gamblers in Lalchowk area of Srinagar in Kashmir’s capital city.

A police officials said that a police party of Police Station Kothi Bagh raided and apprehended three gamblers who were cheating common masses at Abi Guzar area. “They were found playing Lottery/Gambling inside a vehicle bearing No. JK01AH-2517.”

The apprehended persons have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Shah, son of Peer Gayas Din, a resident of Badshah Nagar; Nazir Ahmad Bhat, son of Gh Hassan Bhat, a resident of Abi Guzar Srinagar and Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh Muhammad Sheikh, a resident of BB Cantt Batwara.

“In this connection Case FIR No. 97/2018 U/S 420,294-A RPC 13 Game and Betting Act of P/S Kothibagh has been registered and investigation taken up.,” the official said that added that a stake money of Rs 33080, three Mobiles and diaries with record of lottery numbers.
