An army officer on Saturday was killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off along Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu.
Reports said that the explosion took place at Lam Jhanger a place near to line of control (LOC) in Rajouri district.
In this explosion, an army major was critically injured, however on way military hospital he succumbed to his injuries.
However sources at Army identified deceased Major as Chitre of Engineering Unit.
Meanwhile despite repeated attempts officials in army were not available for comments.
