Forest team seizes 95-cft illicit timber from Bandsaw in Handwara

Kupwara, Jul 05 : A special team of Forest Department on Friday seized a Bandsaw machine and 95 ft of illegal timber at wuskhura village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The forest team headed by Range officer Rajwar Altaf Hussain carried out the raid at Wuskhura Handwara found the Bandsaw lumbering it.

The team seized 95-cft comprising 209 kails of illicit timber.”

The officer said that the value of the seized illicit timber is estimated 2.50 lacs .

Range Officer Rajwar Altaf Ahmad told that acting on a specific information, the forest team carried out the raid and seized the bandsaw machine and the 95 cft of illegal timber.

He further said that the accused persons have been identified as Ghulam Hassan Dar son Amber Dar, Shahid Ahmad Dar son Ghulam Hassan Dar both resident of wuskhura Handwara. (KNS)
