Kashmir Receives Rainfall, Gulmarg and Higher Reaches Witness Snowfall*

Srinagar, October 14: The higher reaches of Kashmir experienced fresh snowfall on Friday night. The famous tourist destination Gulmarg, along with other mountainous areas, was adorned in a layer of snow following overnight precipitation. Simultaneously, widespread rainfall was observed in the plains.

An officialstated that the Afarwat mountain in Gulmarg, situated in northern Kashmir, was enveloped in a picturesque blanket of snow on Friday night. The official mentioned that approximately 2 inches of snow accumulated at the Afarwat mountain, while other weather stations reported substantial rainfall throughout the night.

The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has forecasted light to moderate rain or snow over higher reaches in the upcoming 24 hours.

According to the weather office, there is a high probability of intermittent light to moderate rain or snowfall across the Jammu and Kashmir region over the next four days, starting from Saturday. (KS)
