Kulgam Police Intensifies Operation Drug-Free: Two Peddlers Nabbed with 7 Kilograms of Cannabis, Stringent Action Underway

Srinagar, Jan 16: In the relentless pursuit of eradicating drug-related issues from society, Kulgam Police, under the vigilant guidance of SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal-IPS, successfully apprehended two additional drug peddlers with a contraband substance resembling Cannabis powder within the jurisdiction of Police Station Kulgam.
During routine patrolling near Chatabal bridge along Bypass Kulgam, a team led by SHO Police Station Kulgam intercepted two suspicious individuals, namely Mohd Sadiq Waza and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, attempting to evade the police. Through a tactful operation, the suspects were chased down and apprehended. Upon conducting a thorough search, officers recovered 7 kilograms of ground Cannabis-like contraband substance from bags in their possession.
In response to this incident, a case with FIR No. 09/2024 has been registered at Police Station Kulgam under sections 8/20, 29 of the NDPS Act. The investigation into this matter is actively underway.
