Srinagar, Sep 10 (KINS): MLA Budgam Aga Muntazir Mehdi today extended his support to protesting veterinary interns at SKUAST-Kashmir’s Shuhama campus, who are demanding an increase in their monthly stipend.
Speaking to reporters, Mehdi urged the government to address the interns’ demands before the upcoming Assembly session. He also expressed support for the demands of MBBS interns and NHM employees.
Mehdi said that if the issues are not resolved, he will raise them in the Assembly and press the government to take necessary steps.
The protest by veterinary interns entered its fourth consecutive day today. The interns are demanding an increase in their monthly stipend from ₹6,000 to ₹23,000. (KINS)
