ADC Kishtwar finalizes arrangements for celebration of Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)

Kishtwar, July 12 : Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kishtwar, Pawan Kumar Parihar convened a meeting regarding finalization of arrangements for smooth celebration of Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) in the district scheduled on 15th of July 2019.

Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar, Anil Kumar Chandail, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Dr. Amir Hussain, Dy. CEO Kishtwar, AD Planning, Principals, ZEOs, Headmasters and other concerned remained present in the meeting.

During the course of the meeting it was informed that the Jal Shakti Abhiyan is focused on water conservation and water harvesting, commenced in country wide from 1st July to 30th November 2019 in two phases and on 15th of July Jal Shakti Abhiyan is going to celebrate in district Kishtwar.

The five intervention areas of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan was also discussed including water conservation and rain water harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies, reuse, bore well recharge structures, watershed development and intensive afforestation.

Dy. CEO Kishtwar was directed to ensure the celebration of Jal Shakti Abhiyan on 15th of July 2019 across the schools of district by conducting mass awareness creation activities and community education activities including rallies, Nukkad Natak, Plantation drive, workshops, seminars etc. as a part of Jan Andolan.

Dy. CEO Kishtwar was further directed to chalk out the comprehensive plan of activities in Jal Shakti Abhiyan besides asked teachers and students to ensure to deliver speech on the conservation of water in every school during morning assembly.

ACD Kishtwar was directed to celebrate the Jal Shakti Abhiyan in every panchayat of district Kishtwar and execute one work per panchayat during Jal Shakti Abhiyan.

Further directed ACD Kishtwar to ensure that a “Pani Panchayat” shall be constituted by active involvement of farmers,inhiabitants, villagers who are keenly interested in water conservation.
