DGP sanctions welfare relief, loan over Rs.2.30 crore for 222 police personnel

Jammu, Mar 11 : Continuing with its aim to provide more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to give financial assistance to meet the urgent needs, Police Headquarters, J&K has sanctioned welfare loan in favour of 222 personnel of J&K Police.

“The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund (CPWF). Vide PHQ order No. 1002 of 2020,” a police spokesman said in a statement.

“Under this order welfare loan/relief of Rs. 2,30,40,000/- has been sanctioned in favour of 222 personnel, by the Director General of Police, Shri Dilbag Singh,” he said.

Among the 222 police personnel, Rupees 58.40 Lakh loan and relief have been provided to 47 police personnel for self-treatment and treatment of their dependents which suffering from different ailments, he said.

Rupees 1.60 Crore have been sanctioned to 160 personnel to meet the expenses of their marriage and marriage of their dependents. Six personnel have been provided loan in connection with mundan/circumcision/yegnopavit of their wards, the spokesman said.

“DGP has also sanctioned rupees one lakh each in favour of nine police personnel indifferent ranks to meet the expenses of their wards on technical, professional and higher education.

Welfare loan/relief is sanctioned in favour of J&K Police personnel to meet the expenses of different natures including self-treatment, treatment of dependents, education of wards, self-marriage and marriage of wards, circumcision/yognopavit of son”. The loan is given without any interest to the Police personnel is refundable and will be recovered in monthly instalments from their salaries, he added.
