Srinagar, May 19: A Militant has been killed, CRPF personnel and policeman also injured in ongoing encounter which broke out between militants and goverment forces in Kanimazar area of Nawakadal in Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Tuesday.
A senior Police officer told that a militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, the identity of militant is yet to be ascertained as operation is still underway.
The operation was suspended due to darkness as the area is congested. Operation was resumed with the first ray of light, the officer said.
Meanwhile voice calling ( except BSNL) and mobile Internet has been suspended in Srinagar district for precautionary measures.
Earlier Reports reaching said that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched cordon and search operation in Nawakadal
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.(GNS)
