Anantnag, June 23(KINS): Ten years have passed since foundation stone was laid for construction of Circuit House in Qazigund area of southern Kashmir’s Anantnag district, but it still awaits for completion.
The foundation stone was laid down by the then Roads and Building (R&B) Minister GM Saroori in 2010.
The fund of Rs 4 crore 73 Lakh was sanctioned by the National Conference-Congress coalition government to construct the Circuit House in Qazigund.
The construction work of the Circuit House was taken up by Roads and buildings (R&B) Department and was continued by successive government since 2015.
However, in 2019, the work was stopped and construction was left incomplete.
Locals told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS),”The Circuit House should be constructed at an earliest so that tourists coming from different states can take rest there.”
Executive Engineer Roads and buildings (R&B) Department Qazigund said, “The constitution of Circuit House was halted due to lack of funds. We have already sent a proposal in this regard and we are waiting for his approval. Work will be restarted once we get the approval.”(KINS)
