SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 1: Principal Secretary School Education and Skill Development, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting of senior officers of education and allied departments to review and discuss the status of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in the government schools.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director School Education Kashmir, All CEOs of Kashmir division, while Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, Project Director Samagra Shikha, J&K, Dr Arun Manhas and concerned officials participated in the meeting through vedio conference.
Threadbare discussion were held on minimum facilities to be provided in government schools including electricity, drinking water, Toilets, ramps, Sanitary Napkin vending machines and Incinerators.
The Director School Education Jammu informed the meeting that the works in most of the schools have been completed with 90 percent schools provided tap water facility, 97 percent toilet facility and 86 percent power supply. The additional works like repair of Wash rooms , drinking water units, broken windows panels and electricity have also been done, she added.
Principal Secretary asked the officers to make a list of the schools where ramps are required and create the facility within one month to facilitate the specially abled students.
The CEOs were asked to install sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators in Girls high/higher secondary schools and to make separate toilets for girl child and female staff.
