ED Attaches Assets Worth ₹1.31 Crore in J&K Medical Exam Paper Leak Case

Srinagar Oct 14 ( KINS ) : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized four immovable properties worth ₹1.31 crore in connection with the notorious 2012 Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) medical question paper leak case.
The assets, located in Srinagar and surrounding areas, belong to Sajad Hussain Bhat, Mohd. Amin Ganie, Suhail Ahmad Wani, and Shabir Ahmad Dar. The properties were attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, according to the ED’s Srinagar zonal office.
The ED launched its investigation based on an FIR filed by the Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police against Mushtaq Ahmed Peer, then Chairman of the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE), and several others.
The probe revealed that Peer, along with co-conspirators including Farooq Ahmad Itoo, Bhat, Ganie, Wani, and Dar, sold leaked JKCET 2012 question papers, generating illegal proceeds of ₹2.50 crore. These proceeds were allegedly used by the accused. All individuals involved have since been convicted by the Special Court for Anti-Corruption in Srinagar.
Previously, the ED had attached assets worth ₹60 lakh belonging to Mushtaq Ahmed Peer. A charge sheet was filed against him, and the case is currently pending in the Special PMLA Court in Srinagar.( KINS )
