Jammu Police urges citizens to safeguard smartphones amid rising security concern

Srinagar, Dec 04 (KINS): In a major breakthrough, the Jammu Police, under the special initiative “Operation Re-connect,” successfully recovered 50 lost smartphones worth over ₹15 lakh in the last six months.
The operation, conducted by the South Zone Tech/ESU team, traced and retrieved phones reported lost across multiple police stations in South Zone, Jammu.
Highlighting the importance of safeguarding smartphones, Superintendent of Police (Jammu South) Ajay Sharma, during a press conference on Wednesday, urged citizens to exercise caution. “Smartphones are not just communication devices; they store sensitive personal information, including photographs, emails, financial details, and valuable contacts. Losing them can have serious repercussions,” he emphasized.
The recovered phones were handed back to their rightful owners, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Jammu Police for protecting their privacy and retrieving their valuable devices.
The meticulous operation was executed by PSI Dhanraj Singh, Ct. Vishal Sharma, Ct. Dharminder Choudhary, and Ct. Sheetal Koul, under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh. The team’s relentless efforts involved tracking the devices across various parts of the country.
This achievement underscores the commitment of the Jammu Police to leveraging technology and dedicated teamwork to enhance public service and safety.(KINS)
