Event highlights income-generating opportunities for backward classes; officials emphasize low-interest loans and self-reliance
Srinagar, Mar 18 (KINS): The Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Ltd., in collaboration with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi, organized an awareness camp at Chattabal, Srinagar, on Tuesday. The event aimed to educate the public, particularly individuals from backward classes, about self-employment schemes designed to promote economic independence. A large number of people attended the session.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehmood-ul-Haq Gundroo, Deputy General Manager (Kashmir), outlined various income-generating schemes, with a special focus on initiatives for backward classes. He encouraged attendees to take advantage of the corporation’s low-interest loan schemes and other financial assistance programs. Emphasizing the importance of self-reliance, he reiterated the corporation’s commitment to fostering economic opportunities for marginalized communities.
Zulfikar Ali, District Manager (Srinagar), provided a detailed overview of schemes aimed at establishing income-generating units. He also highlighted the corporation’s education loan schemes, which support students in pursuing higher studies.
The event was also attended by Ms. Shreeza, Chairperson of Chinar Valley Youth Trust, who appreciated the corporation’s efforts and called for more such awareness initiatives to reach a wider audience.
Several beneficiaries shared their success stories, illustrating how these schemes had transformed their lives. Informational brochures and handbills were distributed to attendees. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Babar Bashir Wani, A.O.O, who acknowledged the participants’ enthusiasm and cooperation.(KINS)
