Sixth batch of 710 agniveers from J&K light infantry passes out in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 04 (KINS): The Jammu & Kashmir light infantry regimental centre in Srinagar hosted the passing out parade of its sixth batch of agniveers on Thursday.

A total of 710 young recruits from Jammu and Kashmir completed their training and were officially inducted into the Indian Army.

The event was attended by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who reviewed the parade and congratulated the Agniveers for their hard work and dedication. Senior officers from the Army, Air Force, Police and Civil Administration were also present, along with proud parents who watched their sons complete this important milestone.

The Army in a statement issued to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) said that the ceremony carried a deeper meaning as this batch had started training just a week before Operation Sindoor.

“The intense environment strengthened their resolve and helped prepare them for future challenges. The parade stood as a message of unity, courage and the strong spirit of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing the recruits, the Chief Minister said, “Your commitment is not just to the uniform, but to the idea of India. You are J&K’s finest sons, now becoming the nation’s strongest protectors.” He also praised the instructors for their excellent training”.

“In a heartfelt moment, dignitaries presented ‘Gaurav Padak’ to the parents, honouring their support and sacrifice.As the parade concluded under the winter sky, the newly minted Agniveers marched forward with pride, ready to serve the nation with honour and determination”.(KINS)
