Srinagar, Sep 18 (KINS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hold a political rally in Srinagar tomorrow as part of the BJP’s campaign for the second phase of the Assembly elections in the Union Territory.
This rally is seen as an important effort to build support for the party’s candidates.
“It will be a very big rally, and people here are excited to listen to him,” said a senior BJP leader.
Besides the rally, the Prime Minister will meet with party workers and candidates to boost their morale for the elections.
As per the news agency KINS, strict security measures have been implemented to ensure the event goes smoothly.
The area around the rally venue has been secured with multiple layers of security. “We have made a multi-tier security arrangement for the VVIP visit as per the Standard Operating Procedure laid down for such events,” said a top police official.
A large number of police and paramilitary personnel have been stationed throughout the city and nearby areas, with the highest level of security around the rally site.
Officials say snipers and sharpshooters will be positioned in nearby buildings to monitor the surroundings. Additionally, three layers of security will be set up around the rally area to ensure the Prime Minister’s safety and maintain order.
“The venue of the PM’s speech has already been secured, and arrangements are being made,” said a senior official.
This will be PM Modi’s first rally for BJP candidates in Kashmir before the assembly elections later this month.
It is also his third visit to Kashmir this year. He previously visited in March for a rally at Bakshi Stadium and again in June for a Yoga celebration at SKICC.
The BJP has fielded 19 candidates in Kashmir, leaving some seats open for ‘like-minded’ independent candidates and allied parties.
This rally is seen as a key step in strengthening the BJP’s presence in the Valley. “PM Modi has a good support base, so his campaign will definitely bring votes for the party,” said a BJP leader from Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement and avoid congestion on various routes.(KINS)
