Govt orders immediate repatriation of Legislative Assembly employees

Srinagar, Oct 03 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Government has issued an official directive ordering the immediate repatriation of all employees belonging to the J&K Legislative Assembly, who had been deployed across various departments by the General Administration Department (GAD).
The GAD as per the order dated on 03.10.2024 mandates that all such employees must report directly to the office of the Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly, in Jammu or Srinagar.
News agency KINS reported that the directive further stipulates that any cases of non-compliance should be reported by the Secretary of the J&K Legislative Assembly to the GAD within one week of the order’s issuance. This move is seen as part of the efforts to streamline the functioning of the Legislative Assembly as the Union Territory prepares for future political developments and governance restructuring.
The order also emphasizes that all employees who were temporarily stationed in different departments are now considered relieved of their duties in those offices, effective immediately.
The directive comes in reference to the order number CEO-ELEC/1/2024-1/153-54 dated 19.09.2024 from the office of Chief Electoral Officer. J&K.(KINS)
