Amit Shah hails Waqf Amendment Bill as historic step towards transparency and Justice

Srinagar, April 4 (KINS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday hailed the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, calling it a historic moment that brings an end to years of injustice and corruption while ensuring transparency and accountability in Waqf properties.

Shah’s statement came shortly after the Rajya Sabha approved the bill, a day after it was passed by the Lok Sabha.

“Today marks a historic day as Parliament has approved the ‘Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025’, putting an end to decades of injustice and corruption and ushering in an era of justice and equality,” Shah wrote on X in Hindi.

The Home Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju for their efforts in bringing much-needed reforms to Waqf management.

“I congratulate Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi and Minority Affairs Minister Shri @KirenRijiju for this landmark bill that brings justice to crores of people. I also express my heartfelt gratitude to all the parties and MPs who supported it,” Shah said as per KINS.(KINS)
