CM Omar Abdullah chairs another high-level review meeting on flood response, orders speedy restoration of Power, roads and essential services; Directs departments to stay on high alert until normalcy returns

Srinagar, July 22 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday chaired another high-level review meeting in Srinagar to assess the government’s response and relief measures following the recent heavy rains that affected several parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting reviewed the restoration of essential services, road connectivity, relief operations and district-wise preparedness in the affected areas. Officials informed the Chief Minister that electricity supply in most affected areas is expected to be substantially restored by this evening.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo attended the meeting in person, while Ministers Javed Rana and Satish Sharma participated virtually from Rajouri, where they are overseeing relief and restoration efforts.
The Chief Minister directed all departments to remain on high alert and expedite restoration works to ensure that public services are fully restored at the earliest. He also instructed officials to maintain an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities and pre-position food grains and other essential items in vulnerable areas to prevent any shortages.
Emphasizing the need for constant vigilance, Omar Abdullah directed authorities to continuously monitor vulnerable habitations and ensure a swift on-ground response until normalcy is completely restored. He stressed close coordination among all departments to provide timely relief, rehabilitation and assistance to the affected population.(KINS)
