Two day Job Fair under HIMAYAT concludes: 380 candidates offered jobs

Job Fair organised  byHimayat Mission Management Unit (HMMU) in collaboration with Hard Shell Technologies Pvt Ltd. (YuvaSamparkkranti)concluded today  at Government Polytechnic college Jammu, J&K in which 24 companies and around  700  trained candidatesunder Himayat Programme participated.

Himayat-DDUGKY is implemented on Private-Public-Partnership (PPP) mode, where organizations registered with Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India (GoI), implement the programme as Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs). 12134 candidates have been trained in different job roles in 71 training centres in J&K & outside the Union territory.The objective of the program is to bridge the skill gap and to provide Job opportunities to trained candidates.

During the Fair, 380candidates were offered Jobs by the various employers with salary range of Rs 1.20 lacs-2.64 lacs per annum.

Sh. Kapil Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, HMMU  appreciated the representatives of companies for hiring the candidates &urged them to engage maximum number of Himayat trainees in future recruitment drives  in their respective companies. He informed that these types of JobMelasprovide  an opportunity to trained candidates from all streams to access career options and candidates also get an opportunity to evaluate whether  their existing skill sets match upto the industry requirements.

The event was inaugurated by Secretary RDD & PR Smt Sheetal Nanda (IAS)  who presented mementos to participant companies and also motivated the youth present on the occasion to venture out of J&K to explore better opportunities in private sector

24 companies including some reputed employers like Sarovar Portico, Amazon Pay, Shoppers Stop, Mahindra & Mahindra P&G Services, Burgerwalas, Tech Mahindra, Magic pin etc., participated  as employers to recruit maximum number of trainees for various verticals and offered jobs in different sectors like Hotel & Tourism, Retail-Sales, Security Services, Electrical,and Logistics etc.

Chief Operating Officer, Mr Kapil Sharma distributed offer letters to the selected candidates.

Under Himayat-DDUGKY, the State’s youths in the age group of 15-35 years can undergo skill development and placement free of cost which is inclusive of food, accommodation, uniforms, learning materials and one-time travel to place of placement.

Currently, more than 38 Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) are assigned skill training and placement target of 1,49,180 youths of Jammu and Kashmir.
