Srinagar, Jan 10 : Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Monday said that the case to probe the arrest of DySP Devender Singh was handed over to NIA and the agency has also sought his custody to being the probe.
“It is not good to speak on the arrest of DySP as the case has been handed over to NIA. The agency has also sought the custody of Singh. All the allegations and angles will be probed by the agency and the police right from 1990’s when Singh was inducted into the police force,” DGP Singh told reporters as per wire service.
To a query that there reports that Dy SP Singh was connected with the ISI as he had been frequently travelling to Bangladesh since past three years, the J&K Police chief said that there is an information that Singh’s two daughters were studying at Bangladesh.
“But his visits to Bangladesh will be probed as well,” he said. On whether there would be an internal probe by the police to find out whether any other policemen or officers may be in touch with the militants, the DGP said: “There was nothing like that…”
