Police provides food, other items among needy people, Organizes awareness campaign regarding Coronavirus

Srinagar, Mar 31 (KINS): Continuing its efforts to reach out the needy people, Police provides food and other essential items in Srinagar, Shopian, Sopore and Handwara. Police also facilitated the distribution of ration at Ration Depots in the jurisdictions of Police Stations Sherghari, Harwan and Nishat.

In Nowhatta, Police in collaboration with an NGO (Javeed Foundation) distributed free ration to 63 needy families of Mohalla Bachi Darwaza, Kani Diver Colony, Devi Aagan, Gojwara, Makarpora Kawdara & other areas of Nowhatta, Srinagar as identified by PS Nowhatta after conducting survey through Mohalla, Masjid committees of the respective areas. Apart from free ration distribution, posters showing graphics on “How to keep a covid-19 suspected person in isolation at home and deal with this pandemic, were circulated in the area.

Srinagar police also facilitated distribution of ration ensuring proper social distancing in the jurisdictions of Police Station Sharghari, PS Harwan and PS Nishat at Bakshi Stadium, Shalimar and Nishat Laam Ration Depots respectively. Distribution of essential items was also facilitated by Srinagar police in Sadder area.

In Shopian, Police distributed food & other essential items among the needy people & migrants in the area.

In Sopore, police organized a public awareness drive across the police district to aware the general public regarding the spread of Coronavirus besides distributed food and other ration items among the migrants in the area.

In Handwara, Police distributed food and other essential items in Zachaldar area. The people of the area were also made aware about the precautionary measures to fight back this pandemic Covid19.

Meanwhile, Bandipora police organized a public awareness drive across the district to aware the general public regarding the spread of Coronavirus by highlighting DO’s and DON’Ts for protection from Coronavirus through public address systems and posters across the district.

Police requests the general public of the valley to maintain social distancing, good personal hygiene for prevention from Coronavirus. J&K Police is committed to mitigate the difficulties faced by people due to lockdown.(KINS)
